Timothy Lutheran School Staff Hero Spotlight

As we continue to uplift our TLS teachers each week, I would like to spotlight Sarah Barber as our Timothy Hero of the Week. Sarah currently teaches first grade, but her diverse teaching talents have found her teaching multiple TLS grades over the years. It is rare to find a teacher who can easily transition among grade levels with total competence in all of them. Sarah is always supportive of all efforts and maintains a positive outlook even on the most daunting of days. She gives 110% daily to TLS students, always striving to achieve more and improve as a master teacher…   READ MORE

Sarah is the epitome of the message in Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

A fellow teacher said it best: “Sarah is an exemplary teacher . . . who has great range, successfully teaching in both middle and primary grades. She expertly identifies student needs and works tirelessly to meet them. It is a great honor to work alongside someone of such tremendous talent, dedication, and integrity.” She is also described by her fellow teachers as one who, “. . . has a quiet presence that helps to calm her class. She is very creative in the classroom and modifies lessons to best meet the needs of her students.” “Sarah has been blessed with so many amazing talents and has a huge servant heart! She sets an example for us all by always seeing the bright side of things and daily does her best, all the while giving credit to God.” One teacher, also a parent of former TLS students, commented, “Her love of literature and history helped my girls love those subjects as well. She challenged their young minds to think out of the box on so many occasions and helped them to become the remarkable young ladies they are today.” Another commented, “I love her laugh, her infectious smile, and her big heart.”

TLS students also appreciate the many talents of Mrs. Barber, as supported by the following opinions:  “She helps us when we need help,” “She makes us feel better when we’re sad,” “She’s beautiful and kind,” “She’s a nice teacher and we love her, “ and “She’s really nice at recess!”

Thank you, Sarah Barber, for sharing your joyful heart and hard work at Timothy Lutheran School. We are grateful for all you do. You are truly a Timothy Lutheran School Hero.
