As We Gather For Worship This Weekend

“When Life Meets Death”: We like the saying that “opposites attract,” but in reality, it’s more like “opposites clash.” So what happens when death collides with life? What happens when death meets its match in Jesus? Death must retreat when it comes face-to-face with the Lord of Life, and that is good news for us, because it means that He can conquer all the “little deaths” that we face.
Do you know the things that are impossible?

FaithRoots Is Back!!

Sharing Devotions

Do you know of a devotion which others may enjoy reading in eNotes each week? Below is one to start this new feature.  We look forward to receiving others as they are submitted. Please send to Diane Mayfield at dianem@timothylutheran.com. Thank you!

“I have the joy of sharing two days a week with my granddaughter. She is so very observant and notices every bird as we walk around the neighborhood. She draws my attention to the movement in the sky, and I think of the prophet Isaiah. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

These words remind us that we are called to place our hope in the Lord. We are reminded that God holds all the details, all the decisions, and all the problems in this year in the palm of His hand. We cannot trust in our own sense of control over situations. God “renews our strength.” We cannot simply rely on our own strength because it is too often misguided and will eventually run out. We need to conserve energy and look with anticipation for that just-right wind the Holy Spirit provides. Stop striving and start soaring.”

Facilities Manager Assistant

Please join the Executive Board in welcoming Gary Williams as Timothy’s new Facilities Manager Assistant, effective Monday, Oct. 5. He brings a vast amount of experience in maintenance and repair of facilities, assisting Facilities Manager Don McGhee as they both approach the care of Timothy’s facilities as a ministry to glorify God and their fellow worshippers.

Next Generation Update

“See, I am doing a new thing!” Isaiah 43:19
