As We Gather For Worship This Weekend

THEME: “Prisoners of Peace and Hope”

God’s people were looking for a military solution. They longed for a warrior to kick down the doors and shatter their enemies. They were willing to take their stand with them. But Zechariah delivered a different promise: a king riding in peace. A victory that was won by God. Freedom for prisoners that would be won through peace and hope. And that is what we look forward to as well as we prepare to celebrate this Holy Week. We, too, are prisoners of peace and hope, which God gives us freely through Christ.

Join the gang as they continue to journey to the open tomb. Jesus is the King… who died for us!

Pastor Hochgrebe Update

Timothy looks forward to the Hochgrebes moving to Blue Springs soon. Currently, their plan is for Robin and younger daughter Heidi to arrive during the week of April 11. Pastor Ryan will conclude pastoral duties at Mt. Olive on April 23 and then arrive in Blue Springs the last week of April.

During the month of May, Pastor Ryan will attend worship; settle into his new office; meet more people; acclimate to Timothy life, including attending a few meetings; and vacation with his family before officially joining staff on June 1.

Pastor Ryan’s Installation Service as Timothy’s newest associate pastor will be Sunday, June 6, at 3pm in the sanctuary. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center. Mark your calendars and look for more details soon.

Please keep the Hochgrebes, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, and Timothy in your prayers as transition plans continue.  May the Lord of the Church continue to work among us to transform lives.

Care Ministries Need You

Timothy’s Stephen Ministry provides support to those who are coping with a loss, struggling with a life change or on a health journey. Our new Stephen Ministry training begins in Sept. Please contact the church office (816.228.5300) for more information and to sign up for Care 201 (Congregational Care Ministry), the 8-hour class which is a prerequisite for Stephen Ministry training.
