Searching to Be Known:  A Devotion

So many of us feel lonely, especially during this time of isolation. And often at the core of the loneliness is the idea that we are not known by someone. Even if we are in a crowd of people or with a group of friends, we can still feel lonely. This is when Psalm 139 brings us comfort. You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. Psalm 139:1.

God knows our hearts and minds. He knows where we are and understands our restlessness to be somewhere else. He knows our thoughts, so that when we are without words, He still understands. God goes before us, is with us, and assures us of His presence.

Confirmand Faith Story

Children’s Ministry Update

FaithRoots continues to meet every Wednesday from 6:30-8pm in the 400’s (blue) hallway at RD Mize.

All children ages 3 through 5^th grade are encouraged to participate in one of two large group openings (Pre-K in one group; K-5^th in second group) for the age-appropriate introduction of the Bible lesson, followed by four smaller group gatherings for Pre-K, Kindergarten & 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd-5^th grades for further application of the Bible story.

Wondering how to get connected? It’s easy—just come to the FaithRoots hallway where you and your child will be greeted, signed in, and introduced to the teachers. Parents will pick up the students at their classrooms and take home the latest devotion booklet geared just for the kids.

We look forward to sharing the love of Jesus with all the children tomorrow evening. Bring friends!

Youth Ministry Update

Timothy’s youth in grades 6-12 will gather this Saturday, Jan. 23, from 4:15-6:30pm at Rink Ratz Skating Rink. To ensure proper social distancing, the entire facility is reserved for Timothy’s group, which includes 30 minutes of skating lessons from 4:15-4:45pm. Pizza will be provided, but skaters should bring their own drink. Cost is $5 per skater; bring your friends!

The congregation is reminded that this coming Sunday, Jan. 24, is Youth Sunday at Timothy. Students are working hard to share their time and talents in worship on this special day, such as Scripture readers, ushers, singers, musicians, thespians, and even sound techs!

Youth Ministry Fundraiser is this Sunday, Jan. 24, as well. Please stop by the table in the lobby at each campus to show your support of the youth raising funds to participate in the 2021 Youth Quake at the end of Feb. Contributions are tax-deductible since no goods are received for your donations. The youth will also appreciate donations of individually wrapped snacks, bottles of water, and cans/bottles of soft drinks. Thank you!

Cundiff Farewell Reception

Friends of long-time Timothy members Mel and Gloria Cundiff said farewell at a cake reception in their honor after the 9am worship service on Jan. 17. The Cundiffs are moving to St. Joseph, MO, where their younger son and daughter-in-law live. Thank you, Mel and Gloria, for your decades of service at ministry. We will miss you!

Lenten Services We look forward to the Lenten Wednesdays Sermon series based on the Book of Job, starting Ash Wednesday. There will be two worship services at RD Mize on Ash Wednesday, 4pm and 5:30pm. All other Wednesday worship services will occur once at 5:30pm.

Drive-Thru Communion At its meeting last night, the Board of Elected Elders approved Drive-Thru Communion for the first Sunday of each month from 11:30am-12:15pm at the Wyatt Campus. Please park at the curb and enter the lobby. Thanks!
