Re-Opening Timothy

Timothy’s leadership is meeting this week to discuss best plans to resume in-person worship and ministry activities. The original decision to remain closed through the end of May remains in effect.

As Jackson County announces its latest decisions about re-opening facilities, please understand that Timothy’s Executive Board and Board of Elected Elders must consider our church family as a whole, not as individual segments. There are many factors to consider, including the capability for live streaming of services and the protocol involving implementation of and costs associated with observing physical distancing, disinfecting, sanitizing, and maintaining required capacity limits. We all want to gather in-person again soon, but leadership must concentrate on and be responsible for what is morally and physically best for our Timothy family.

Frequent updates will be communicated as they are developed. Please keep Timothy’s ministries, staff, and members in your prayers during these highly unusual times.

Next Generation Congregational Study Update

Thank you to the 305 respondents of the congregational survey! The data from this survey is being compiled and analyzed by Steering Committee Member Dave Domsch and Volunteer Consultant Dave Kuerschner. We look forward to receiving the final report soon.

Committee members continue the process of researching questions raised by members and look forward to sharing it with the congregation as it is available.

JourneyMen Bible Study – COURAGE

The next few months are going to be hard. Even if you’re personally in good shape, you’re still going to be caught up in a lot of hardship and disaster until, with God’s help, we conquer this pandemic. Whether you’re just trying to survive or hoping to thrive, it’s going to take courage to work through the next few months.

Courage is “the quality or state of mind or spirit that enables one to face hardship or disaster with confidence and resolution.” We all want that, right? Here’s the question: Will you have enough courage for the difficult tasks that lie ahead? In this lesson, we’ll discuss God’s desire and plan to equip you with a deep, unwavering courage to face the next few months.

Another Unfortunate “Casualty”

It is with regret that Timothy announces the cancellation of its 2020 Vacation Bible School due to complications surrounding COVID-19. With all the unknowns, schools rearranging summer school, and requirements of social distancing and sanitizing daily, we’ve come to realize it is impossible to provide safe distancing with the anticipated numbers that attend VBS. It is our hope to provide an alternate online experience for the kids. Many of the VBS publishers are putting together online VBS programs to help congregations provide for this unprecedented time we face.
