Resuming Worship Update

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

A question on everyone’s mind lately is, “When will Timothy resume in-person worship?”  While we appreciate the hard work and dedication of numerous volunteers and staff to shift our services to an online format, we long for the chance to gather in worship together.

This question has weighed heavily on Timothy’s leaders for the past few weeks, especially as restrictions on in-person gatherings have relaxed. We want to strike a balance between our members’ desire to be together with the need to do so safely. We also want to resume public worship with as little change or disruption as possible so that, when we come together, our worship experience is as similar as possible before the pandemic.

After much deliberation and after studying suggestions from the Missouri District and guidelines from federal, state, and local governments, Timothy’s leaders plan to resume in-person worship on July 11 & 12, hoping that Jackson County will be in Phase 3 of its recovery plan by then. READ MORE…

Timothy Continues to Give and Give and Give!

Timothy again showed its tremendous caring spirit this past Saturday as three truckloads of groceries and household items were collected and delivered to Jesu el Buen in Kansas City. Thank you to everyone!

Please remember that we can continue this caring spirit this week by dropping off groceries for the next Welcome Inn distribution by Friday, June 5, in the black receptacle outside the RD Mize office doors, 8:30am-4:30pm, M-F. Suggested donations include cereal, cookies, cups of mac & cheese, tuna packets, bags of small oranges, toilet paper, tissues, napkins, and cleaning supplies. After these donations are delivered on June 10, the Welcome Inn visits will continue monthly.

New Chairs for the Fellowship Hall

At its February 1 Society Meeting, Timothy’s LWML voted to purchased 100 sorely-needed, new chairs and one cart for the Fellowship Hall at RD Mize, funded by proceeds from the Ash Wednesday Lenten Dinner, monies in the LWML treasury (Fellowship Hall Fund) and a generous matching gift from an anonymous donor. While we were “busy” under quarantine, the order was placed, and the delivery truck finally arrived this past Friday with the new chairs!

A very special THANK YOU to Don McGhee, Steve Schild and Bruce Wands who graciously unloaded the chairs and to Carol Ready for taking the lead in submitting the order and following the order process during the pandemic. The chairs are a medium gray fabric with a dark gray metal frame. Hoping we can all SIT on the chairs soon as we eventually get back to meeting again in person! To God Be the Glory!
