As We Gather For Worship This Weekend

WELCOME BACK! – The Church never shut down. We may have had to stay separate for a while, but the Church never went away. But we still rejoice that we are able to resume our in-person worship this weekend. We understand that the reason why we gather together is so we can hear the Word that is proclaimed and have it feed our faith.
Join the FaithRoot’s gang this week as they teach the children their take home point “JOIN GOD’S FAMILY – BE KIND TO OTHERS” through the Bible Event. This week we learn about Lydia. We thank God for those who help us see Jesus. Albie, Gordy, Megan, Miriam and King Rodnae are ready to share this amazing story.
Timothy’s Tithes Reach Out and Touch Many

The following note from Rachel House reminds us of the importance of Timothy’s mission tithes as we reach out to Touch Lives for Christ in our community and beyond. Thank you, Timothy, for your regular general contributions so that all tithes can be shared at the full 10% level.

“Your donation is received with so much gratitude. During the summer months an estimated 1,000 women and men will walk through the door of one of our four pregnancy centers….It is partners like you who ensure that we will be open and ready for service, educate and support them. At Rachel House Pregnancy Resource Centers, our top priority is that our clients receive compassionate care through our services and programs, equipping them for a healthier future.”  Kathy Edwards, CEO/President, Rachel House”

Hillcrest Transitional Housing Graduation

Timothy’s current apartment resident will graduate from the Hillcrest program on Sunday, July 19. If you would like to congratulate Sharrone with a card, you may drop it off at the church office by July 17. Sharrone will enter the graduate program at Hillcrest and move into a graduate apartment with her son Willie, who will celebrate his 5th birthday on the 19th also.

Hillcrest “Drive-By-And-Drop-Off” Grocery Drive

PLEASE NOTE:  The date for this grocery drive is now Saturday, August 8th, not August 1st.  Please mark your calendars accordingly.

As a reminder, the following items are especially needed as new residents move into the Hillcrest apartments:  paper towels; toilet paper; hand soap; body wash; shampoo; box dinners (Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, etc); canned tuna; Spaghetti-O’s & Ravioli-O’s for kids; ketchup; mayo; and syrup. Thank you!
See you on August 8, 10am-noon, both campuses!

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Did you notice the title above? Timothy’s Friday Morning Bible Study is now the Tuesday Morning Bible Study! Pastor John will be the leader. We welcome past as well as new participants. Open to all! No age restrictions! Come for spiritual nourishment as well as delicious goodies and coffee, tea, water . . . and maybe Pastor John will share his Coke as well. 😊  A start-up date is set for September 8th, realizing the situation is very fluid and subject to change if necessary. More details available soon!

Next Generation Study Update

Don’t forget to attend the Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, July 29, at 6:30pm at Wyatt Auditorium, either in person or via Zoom. For those planning to attend via Zoom, watch for details soon about logging on that evening.

Last week, a Special Voters’ Meeting was announced for Sunday, August 16. Please note that the Special Voters’ Meeting is postponed until such time that it will hopefully be safer for large in-person gatherings. Given the reality of our world right now, we know not everyone feels comfortable with in-person meetings at this time. We want to honor those concerns and not force anyone to do something they feel is risky or ill-advised. Stay tuned for updates and thanks for your cooperation.

Timothy Lutheran School Ministry Playground Fundraiser

Timothy Lutheran School Ministry is sponsoring a fundraising project to develop a new K-8 playground space and improve the existing playground for Pre-K students.
The playground project involves:

  1. Site development for a K-8 grade playground
  2. Relocation/installation of existing playground equipment at R.D. Mize to Wyatt Road
  3. Partial relocation of existing Wyatt Road playground equipment
  4. Fence installation for the existing Wyatt playground to secure Pre-K students
  5. Rubber mulch installation for both playgrounds

We urge Timothy members and friends to prayerfully support this project to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional growth of our students in an improved, secure playground.

Donors can sponsor one or more of the 900 squares on our virtual playground grid below through a $100 donation per square. Donations may be placed via PayPal via credit, debit, or electronic check. A PayPal account is not required. Donors may choose to include their names or designate in honor or memory of someone. Once completed, a list of the people will be recognized in a framed picture of the finished product. The virtual playground will be updated weekly to display donation progress. Thank you for your support of this project through your prayers and monetary donations.
