As We Gather For Worship This Weekend

THEME: Training for the Games

When people prepare for a sporting event, they usually go into training. They monitor their diets, they do enough exercising, they rest regularly. All of that is done to keep them in their peak physical shape so they can compete to the best of their ability. So, too, Paul calls on Christians to live lives of discipline to run the race set out in front of us. We remain focused on what matters and press on ahead to the goal.

Join the gang this week as the students learn about God’s power through this week’s Bible Event discussing Samson.

Special Voters’ Assembly Meeting

The Executive Board announces to the congregation that a Special Voters’ Assembly Meeting will occur on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, immediately after the 10am worship service at Wyatt. The sole purpose of the meeting is to call a candidate to fill the position of Children & Youth Minister. Additional details of the process will be explained at the meeting. Please plan to attend; a quorum of 40 communicant members is required to conduct business. Thank you!

Church Website Improvement

The GO Commission is working with church staff to improve Timothy’ website. The congregation is encouraged to submit ideas of what you would like the website to look like/do/be. Please send your comments to Diane Mayfield ( Regular updates to the congregation will be provided as improvements/revisions are incorporated. Thanks for your feedback!

Timothy Supports LUMAA

Timothy’s LWML has led the congregation in strongly supporting the Lutheran Urban Mission Agency Auxiliary through various projects. Sewers Gloria Schulz, Susan Ready, Pat Bock, Jean McCormick, Lucy Johnson, Kathy Barnett, and Lois Domsch recently “wrapped up” another Baby Receiving Blanket collection for LUMAA. As pictured, they produced a wide assortment of playful designs for cuddling the new babies. Another recent project encouraged donations of school supplies for second semester. This drive collected 650 items and $185 for the LUMAA food pantries, providing food, winter necessities, and school supplies for low-income people. Thank you, Timothy!

 Youth Ministry Update

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! This past weekend, Timothy’s youth group teamed with some of Timothy’s LWML ladies to send homemade cards to Timothy’s homebound families. This was a time for fun and fellowship as students designed the perfect cards, thanks to the materials graciously donated by LWML.

Valentine’s Day, like all holidays over the past several months, may look a little different this year, but one thing remains unchanged: God’s Love. As children learned in FaithRoots this week, God’s love is FOREVER, which is why we encourage families to stop by the Youth Ministry table the next two Sundays, Feb. 7 & 14, in the lobby at each campus to pick up your very own Family Valentine’s Day kit. Each kit contains an online activity link to an interactive family adventure. Get ready to overcome fun challenges, solve puzzles, and learn about God’s love together. Then find the provided recipe and supplies for a delicious treat you can make as a family. The link to the site is also available on Timothy’s Children’s Ministry page. Kits will be available at the RD Mize office throughout the week for those unable to join us on the Sundays. Grandparents and parents alike are encouraged to join in the fun with their children of all ages! Please send photos of your family’s experience to #V-day Event.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
