As We Gather for Worship This Weekend

THEME: “I Know That My Redeemer Lives!”

Job needed a strong hand guiding him and a tender heart loving him. And that’s exactly what God gives him—and us. Resurrection joy is ours through Job’s most famous words: “I know that my Redeemer lives!”

During Lent, we journeyed through the Book of Job, a challenging journey in that it required us to take a hard look at some of our assumptions of whom we are and how God works. But now, as we come to Easter, we can boldly proclaim with Job, “I know that my Redeemer lives!”

Even in the midst of the chaos of life, Job declared his faith that God would redeem him and resurrect him. After all, that’s what our God is all about. He takes what is broken and heals it. He finds what once was lost and rescues us from sin, death, and the devil. He redeems us through Jesus’ death and resurrection. We can confidently proclaim, “I know that my Redeemer lives!”

I look forward to celebrating Jesus’ resurrection with you this year, maybe more so than in previous years. If you’re able to and comfortable, please do join us on Sunday morning at 9am or 11am at RD Mize or at 10am at Wyatt. If you’re not able to or not quite ready to rejoin us yet, please join us via the livestream on Facebook at 10am.

Leading up to Easter Sunday, remember that in-person Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services today and tomorrow will be at 4 & 5:30pm at RD Mize with the 5:30 services livestreamed. Holy Communion will be celebrated at both services tonight with drive-thru communion available after the second service (6:30-7pm) at the north entrance to the sanctuary.

May the joy of this season fill our lives as we celebrate that He is risen! He is risen, indeed!
