Psalm 138:7 [NIV] | 7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.
When you first start out on the journey of reaching for God’s plan for your life, there can be a great level of joy and excitement in the beginning. Things are going good for you. Things somehow just seem to be working out exactly like you thought they would. You are experiencing the favor of the Lord.
But like everything else in life, you will also hit those moments where you will come up against great resistance, attack, and distractions from the enemy while trying to accomplish what God is telling you to do. Staying committed through the ups and downs is the key in order to reach your destiny.
Nehemiah had a strong passion and desire to rebuild the wall around the city of God that had been broken down, burned and rendered ineffective in protecting the city. He felt in his heart that this was what God was calling him to do.
As soon as he assembled the team and started the work, it drew great attention and opposition from the enemy who quickly schemed to make Nehemiah’s job very difficult. Through it all, Nehemiah remained focused and committed to finishing that which he had started.
When you start walking out the plan that God has for your life, it will be very important for you to stay focused on Him and the plan that He has for you. It will be a noble cause and worthy of your undivided attention. Be on guard against anything that will distract you or slow the process of completing the work that God has you doing.
Lord, thank you for guiding me in the past you desire. Help me to stay focused on you and the task you have planned for me in my life. Amen.
Today I will stay focused on God’s will for my life.
