MINISTRY MATTERS
Vol. 5 No. 12   April 5, 2019

The purpose of Ministry Matters is to provide an opportunity for the leaders of Timothy to share what is happening in their ministry areas. Each Friday, Ministry Matter is emailed to Timothy’s executive board, elders, staff, commission leaders and other lay leaders. If you wish to include something, please email it to Diane Mayfield (dianem@timothylutheran.com) by 8am Thursday. Feel free to share this document as you wish.

From GO Commission—Kathy Wildschuetz, Commission Leader
GO Commission met on March 25 with Courtney Dryer, Kathy Wildschuetz and Pastor John attending. Kathy opened the meeting with prayer.

Live Well Community Fair Expense Update: Pastor John will collect all costs for the postcards and mailing expenses to update the commission. He estimated total at $500-$600. He will also make sure that the cost for mailing comes from the GO Commission account rather than the regular church budget for mailings.

Summer Music Festival:  The commission decided more time is needed to plan the festival, so the date has been changed from June 22 to October 19. Kathy will contact the church office to update the calendar. Pastor John will contact his friends in a band to determine if they are available. Courtney will contact two rapper bands (Battlerapper from KC area and DaMac from Texas). Kathy will contact New Bridge and some local churches to determine if there is any interest. It was also suggested that the festival be held outdoors. While that is not feasible at Timothy (no stage or large enough portable sound system), it might work at Rotary Park since there is a covered bandstand used by City-sponsored weekly concerts in the summer. Kathy will research cost of reserving the park and details about the sound system.

Next meeting:  April 22, 6pm, Room 103, R.D. Mize Campus
