Did you know that Timothy Lutheran School is part of a bigger organization? Yes, you know about the Missouri District and the LCMS, but that is not what we are talking about. TLS is part of the Kansas City Lutheran Athletic League (KCLAL).

There are 10 Lutheran Schools, including TLS, within a 50 miles radius of downtown KC. These schools come together to play each other in various sports throughout the school year. The fall sports are soccer for boys and volleyball for girls.

For TLS it has been a rebuilding year for soccer. We only have 9 boys on our team. Of those 9 boys, only 3 are in 7th or 8th grade. For those that don’t know, soccer is usually played with 11 on the field. Our opponents played fair and only put 8 of their players on the field. But, we still made it to the consolation game in the end-of-the-season league tournament.  It was a close game, but the other team brought home the trophy. We are proud of our team for fighting to the end, even though we were the underdogs the whole season.

However, our volleyball teams have had a different year. Our 5/6 grade team has come so far this season. The played some scrappy ball and brought home the 3rd place trophy in our league tournament.

Our 7/8 grade team has had a Cinderella season. Their league tournament was this past Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in St. Joe. They came into the tournament undefeated and left the tournament undefeated. And, for the 3rd year in a row, they have qualified for the state volleyball tournament hosted by the Lutheran School Association of Missouri. The will spend November 8-10 representing TLS with some of the biggest Lutheran schools and teams in the whole state.

We are so proud of all of you for your commitment to TLS, to each other, and to your Lord.
