God has done (and continues to do) marvelous things at Timothy! He guides His people through important ministries as we celebrate worshiping and serving under one roof, perhaps none greater than walking alongside Timothy’s senior pastor call process. OASIS, the Wednesday evening children and family ministry program, offers children, teens, and parents the opportunity to grow in their faith. Timothy Lutheran School continues to provide a strong Christian presence for children and their families. “The Center,” a new young adult ministry at Timothy, is in its formative stages. LWML, Women of Hope, and JourneyMen continue to reach many longing to embrace and deepen their relationship with Jesus and other Christians. An additional Sunday morning Adult Bible Class starts on October 6 as another opportunity to dig into God’s Word. Timothy’s Discovery Class is once again active in bringing in new members. While the transition to one campus has affected us all, God sends the Holy Spirit to remind us that our generosity towards others will refresh us!
This fall, Timothy’s GIVE Commission will promote a generosity emphasis to educate the congregation about the financial resources needed to transform lives through Christ through its thriving ministries. While time and talents are equally important, our treasures (finances) are also necessary to support bringing us and the unchurched closer to Christ. More to follow soon. Please prayerfully consider how your generosity can impact Timothy’s mission of transforming lives through Christ in 2025 and beyond.

Timmy Burger Thank You
A BIG thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make the Steakburger booth a success this year. We weathered excessive heat, shelter-in-place storms, and cool rainy weather. Over 200 volunteers made this event go smoothly: members, past members, future members, family, and friends. We had several new volunteers and lots of seasoned veterans - they ranged from 4 years old to a little bit older than that. Everyone worked together to feed and witness to our community. A special thank you to everyone who worked multiple shifts and all of the heavy lifters at set up and tear down. We were able to sell some of the leftover cheese and meat as well as donate the rest to shelters in the area. It truly takes a team effort to make this such a success each year.

Timothy Ladies Book Club
After taking a summer break, the ladies in Timothy's Book Club resumed with a September meeting to discuss The Wind Knows My Name. On Mission with Jesus
The Book of Acts details the early church's dynamic growth, showcasing ordinary people doing extraordinary things through the Holy Spirit. Over 13 weeks, we'll see the birth of a movement that reshaped the world.
Acts offers more than history; it reflects the Spirit's ongoing work within the church. We'll examine how early believers faced challenges, built community, and boldly shared the gospel—experiences relevant to us today.
With a dedicated reading plan, we’ll explore the stories of Peter, Paul, and others, learning how the Holy Spirit empowered them and how He can empower us. We’ll find practical ways to apply these lessons to our lives and become effective witnesses for Christ.
Follow along with our sermon series and weekly Prepare for Worship emails for reading assignments. Let’s be inspired by the early church's courage and faith and ignite a fresh wave of God’s Kingdom.

Ready to Serve
This year LWML will recognize Lutheran Women in Mission on Sunday, October 6, with the theme "Ready to Serve" (Luke 1:38). As redeemed children of God, Lutheran Women in Mission give thanks for the opportunity to serve others as we have been served, to proclaim that Jesus is our Lord, and that He came for all nations, as we respond with our mite offerings supporting God's mission throughout the world. The widow and her mites are an example. Her offering she made was observed by our Lord, leading Him to share that her two small copper coins, her mites, were "everything she had, all she had to live on" (Mark 12:43). May our mite offerings be blessed for our Lord's Kingdom.

On Mission with Jesus: A Journey Through the Book of Acts
The Book of Acts is a thrilling chronicle of the early church's explosive growth. It's a story of ordinary people empowered by the Holy Spirit to do extraordinary things. As we embark on this 13-week journey through Acts, we'll witness the birth of a movement that would change the world.
But Acts isn't just history; it's a picture of how the Spirit has worked within the church then and now. We'll see how the early believers faced challenges, built community, and shared the gospel with boldness. These same challenges and opportunities exist for us today.
By following a dedicated reading plan, we'll delve deeper into the inspiring narratives of Peter, Paul, and countless others. We'll explore how the Holy Spirit equipped them and how He can empower us. As we journey together, we'll discover practical ways to apply these ancient truths to our lives and become more effective witnesses in transforming lives through Christ.
To enhance your experience, we encourage you to read through the Book of Acts alongside our sermon series. Each week, we'll provide specific reading assignments in our weekly Prepare for Worship email to guide your study.
Let's be inspired by the courage and faith of these pioneers. Together, we can ignite a fresh wave of God's Kingdom on earth. Are you ready to step into your role in this epic story? The series begins on Sunday, September 1.
Reading for this week: Chapters 1-2.
Staff Highlight Corner
Per Ken Holland, "Taking a moment to reflect on how blessed we are to have such a supportive community embracing Timothy Lutheran School is an enjoyable pause in my day. While I have collectively raised up our teaching staff, I would like to introduce you to the first teacher I hired at Timothy Lutheran School: Kelly Butz. Kelly is one of our Early Childhood Preschool Teachers."
Kelly is a beloved colleague and teacher. Her colleagues describe her as, “…a kind, giving and patient teacher.” “She automatically makes each child feel like he or she is the most important person in the room.” “She truly is a good listener.”
Thank you, Kelly Butz, for being the colleague, educator, and friend that you are. Timothy Lutheran School is proud to call you one of our own!
Call Committee Update
Timothy’s Call Committee met on Aug. 27. The final draft of the new Senior Pastor position description was approved and referred to the Executive Board for its review and to the Board of Executive Elders for its approval. Prior to the meeting, Call Committee members individually ranked the 15 candidates and submitted their rankings for a composite score of all rankings. From that process, the Committee selected its top six candidates to interview soon, based on solidarity and clear choice to meet Timothy’s needs. Virtual interviews are scheduled to start the week of Sept. 9, depending upon candidates’ availability. The next Call Committee meeting will be Sept. 3 to summarize and organize interview questions to meet Timothy’s needs as derived from the recent congregational survey as well as the candidates’ experiences and qualifications.
Please continue to keep the Call Committee and call process in your prayers as we seek to find the man God has already chosen as Timothy’s next senior pastor. Thank you!

We are still needing volunteers for the following shifts: Set-up Thursday night, Clean-up Friday afternoon/evening, Friday & Saturday 4-7 pm and Friday & Saturday 7-10 pm. Thank you to the volunteers who have already sign up. We appreciate all your willingness to serve.
This past semester, I completed my first systematic theology class as part of my theological training, focusing on God's character and creation. I must admit that my previous understanding of God’s character often led to abstract and unhelpful thoughts. This class really opened my eyes to a deeper level of understanding. Next, I will be moving on to Systematic Theology 2, where I will delve deeper into the study of Christ and the Church. I am excited to continue this journey and am deeply grateful for your ongoing financial support.
In Him,

Help Us Replace Our Lawn Mower
We hope this message finds you well. Our zero-turn lawn mower at Timothy Lutheran Ministries has reached the end of its life, and we need a new one costing $4,800.
Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised about $3,200 so far, but we still need more to reach our goal.
To help, please visit our website and select “Adopt-a-Mower” under the “Give” tab, drop off a check at the church with “Adopt-a-Mower” noted, or click the button below. Every donation is appreciated and makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting our church community and helping us keep our grounds beautiful.
As many of you are aware, Kurt and Kelly Burns will be leaving the Blue Springs area and heading to the beautiful island of Hawaii! For the past 28 years, Kurt has been involved with our music ministry, playing the drums for our contemporary service, and Kelly has been involved in singing with the Celebration Choir!
We will definitely miss them and all they do for Timothy.
Kurt’s last Sunday with us will be September 1st.
We pray God’s Blessings upon them as they begin this new journey!
LWML Society Meeting Success
LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Jessy and Thomas visited Timothy's LWML Society meeting last weekend. The trained Golden Retrievers, members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, serve as ambassadors for Christ with their calming nature and skills as they interact with humans in need. It was a joy to have these loving animals share their morning with the group and help us understand how their mannerisms and compassion are able to bring relief, some joy, and love to those who are hurting from disasters, crises, or illness/death of a loved one in our communities.
Calling All Singers!
I will lift my voice to sing Your praise, O my Strength—for You came to my defense. O God, You have shown me Your loving mercy. Psalm 59:17
We are called to worship the Great and Glorious God who defends us in this crazy world and shows us mercy and love on a daily basis.
You are invited to join us in the choir. Contemporary Choir meets on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-7:30 in the music room, and the Sanctuary choir will begin practice Wednesday, September 4th, from 6:00-7:00 in the sanctuary.
Hope you can be a part of bringing praise to our worship.
