and Amy. Steve has a B.S. from California State University -Long Beach, CA,
DCE certification from Concordia, Irvine in 1991 and a Masters degree in Family
Life from Concordia, Seward -NE. He has served as a DCE in two other congregations:
Our Father Lutheran Church- Littleton, CO and The Lutheran Church of Arcata-
Arcata, CA. He completed his DCE internship at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran
Church in Moreno Valley, CA. He was called to serve at Timothy in November
of 1999. Steve was on staff at Road & Track magazine, served as camp counselor/water
ski instructor at a Christian camp on the Sacramento river, and also employed
in the field of environmental engineering prior to becoming a DCE.
Steve currently directs ministries for middle school, high school and college/young
adults. He also coordinates Timothy's adult discipleship, confirmation ministry,
early communion instruction and serves as a worship leader.
Steve enjoys spending time with his family, working on house and auto projects,
biking, fixing up old boats and being around large bodies of water.
Frequently and regularly encountering God is a key to becoming the God created
us to be and that principle guides Steve in developing ministries for youth
and adults. "Be still and know that I am God" from Psalm 46:10 is
a verse from which Steve finds inspiration and direction.
