Associate Pastor Richard Steensma

Rich and his wife Kate have three children, Emily, Sarah and Anna. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Rich has a B.A. from Concordia University, Ann Arbor and an M.A. from Western Michigan University. He enjoys bowling, golf, family activities and TV game shows.

Rich serves Timothy as our Vicar. The goal for a Vicar is to work directly with the pastors and assist in carrying out the functions of the pastoral ministry, visiting the sick and shut-in, leading worship, preaching as well as day to day ministry opportunities. After his vicarage, Rich will be eligible to be Called into the Pastoral Office in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.

One of Rich’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 6:3-4, “Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
