Small Groups Ministry
The
Small Group Ministry is biblically based in Christ. It models Jesus' example
of using a small group to develop the faith and life of His disciples. With
Jesus at the center of all that the group is and does, group members grow
as Jesus' disciples, increasing in faith, joy, and love. Small groups develop
out of similar interest such as: children, fellowship events, neighborhoods,
and people they know.
Special training for leading small groups is available.
Mission:
Our mission is to provide the means for all members to grow in the following areas: Care and Fellowship, Bible Study, worship, and service.
There are four pillars to our "Small Group Care" ministry which provides
opportunities for:
Building Community: Sharing takes place in getting to know members
of the group.
Exploring God's Word: A way of studying God's Word. Or you could
use a simple devotion already prepared. Most important is to apply the devotion
to your daily life.
Prayer and Worship: Asking for prayer requests within your group
or listening to a praise tape/CD. Experiment with different ways of praying.
Serving Others: For example: hand bells, choir, a board, Sunday
School soup kitchen, raking someone's yard.
Small group Ministry is lead by Melinda Johnson.
Vision:
To support Timothy's ministry statement of "Touching Lives for Christ," the Care Vision is "To equip and nurture a caring community of believers who share the common desire of making disciples who love and serve Christ and His world."
