New Membership
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
| 1. | If you have not had the chance to be instructed in the Lutheran teachings – DISCOVERY CLASSES are offered four times a year. They consist of eight classes that offer an overview of the Christian faith and what Lutherans believe. Our pastors teach these classes. The Bible is the main textbook and everyone is given the same type of study Bible with the same page numbers. Power point presentations are used with fill-in-the-blank sheets for each week to cover key concepts. |
| 2. | If you have been confirmed as a Lutheran – you are accepted as a transferred member from a sister congregation if we can acquire your transfer from your last church. Otherwise you will be received by “affirmation of faith.” |
| 3. | If you have any other questions – telephone or email the main receptionist at church (who is the membership secretary) or meet with one of the pastors. |
All are asked to go through two membership orientation sessions to learn about the mission and goals of Timothy Church that are unique to this congregation. We want to help people follow Christ in a life long journey of faith. This is how we describe a disciple. The pastors will introduce themselves to you and tell you more about themselves. You will also have the chance to make connections with others who will be joining at the same time.
The summer series will beg Wednesday, June 3.
The fall series will begin Sunday, September 13.
