One-to-One Ministry

The One to One Ministry is how Jesus touched people with His love. We follow His example by being sensitive to the needs of individuals. One to One ministry is important in times of surgery, job loss, death of a loved one, birth of a child, and other times of need.

Mission:

Our mission is to provide the means for all members to grow in the following areas: Care and Fellowship, Bible Study, worship, and service.

Card Ministry: The Card Ministry is a special and personal way of letting people know that the members at TLC care about their joys and concerns. Special cards are sent to individuals who are hospitalized, dismissed from the hospital or shut-in due to illness, age, military members, grief follow-up, college members or other circumstances.

Helping Hands Ministry: This ministry provides services to members of TLC who require special assistance such as: raking yards, bagging leaves, home repairs, cleaning house, etc.. Volunteers to offer these services are obtained from the Serving God survey sheets, Small Groups, Youth, etc.. Referrals are obtained from pastoral staff or individual members encountering special situations.

Tape Ministry: This ministry is dedicated to delivering audio tapes of the Sunday worship services to the shut-ins and members missing Sunday Services. It also includes gracious visits by volunteers who not only deliver the tapes but bring loving care, attention and concern to those unable to get away from their home or room due to age, illnesses or other circumstances. The volunteers pass along relevant information received to pastors or lay leaders so that other services may be arranged as needed.

Transportation Ministry: This ministry provides transportation to individuals who are not able to drive or obtain a ride to worship services on Sunday morning. Depending on the availability of volunteers, the ministry may fulfill the transportation needs of shut-ins or recovering members who need to go to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping or other activities essential to the health and well-being of the individual. Volunteer transporters need to be careful drivers who have a safe car and adequate vehicle insurance. Being a transporter provides a much needed service that can be a rewarding experience.

Giving Tree: This ministry is dedicated in providing Timothy families or individuals with assistance during the Christmas season. During Advent, a Giving Tree is set up where individual ornaments, listing clothing articles and toys, along with envelopes for monetary contributions for utility money and for the work of our missionaries will hang on the branches. Members take the scrolls from the tree, purchase items and return the scrolls with the purchase to the church so that they may be presented to individuals for Christmas Day. Confidentiality is maintained for the individual families.

Health Ministry: This ministry is dedicated to the health and wellness of our congregation in order to be in full service to our Lord. It is shaped by Christ's concern for all aspects of the human condition and seeks to serve the whole person: body, mind and spirit. As a witness to God's love and compassion for all persons, it is an effective way in which the Holy Spirit touches us to make us whole. The goals and objectives of the ministry are to provide: health education, personal health counseling, liaison with the community and facilitate care giving volunteers specific to health concerns.

Stephen Ministry: Stephen Ministry training will equip you, and our congregation will support you, so that you can show God's mercy, care and compassion to another who is hurting. God works through Stephen Ministers to plant the seed of hope and healing in a person whose life seems barren and forlorn because of crisis or tragedy. You will walk beside your care receiver, pray for him or her, and help him or her walk through life's difficulties. Through this ministry God will bring forth new life and renews faith in both your care receiver and in you as a Stephen Minister. Is God calling you to serve in this way?
